Title: The Distribution of Gamma-Ray Bursts at MeV Energies Measured by COMPTEL Authors: A Connors, M McConnell, J M Ryan, UNH; R M Kippen, UAH; F Pelaez, C Winkler, SSD; J Greiner, V Sch\"onfelder, M Varendorff, W Collmar, MPE; W Hermsen, L Kuiper, SRON Abstract: Five and a half years after launch, the imaging COMPTEL telescope on board the COMPTON Gamma-Ray Observatory has measured the positions and 0.75--30 MeV spectra of roughly thirty gamma--ray bursts that occured within its 1 sr field of view. This is a large enough sample to investigate the properties of the distribution. For example Kippen etal (COSPAR) reported that in the COMPTEL energy range, the bursts are best fit by a simple power--law. This is in contrast to results in the BATSE energy range, where typically a spectral break is needed around a few hundred keV. We provide an update on results from recent spectral and spatial analyses, and report on the ongoing campaign to provide COMPTEL positions, with 1 degree accuracy, in near real time (15 minutes) to a network of multiwavelength observers. -eof-
