IDT Dataset History
IDT Dataset History
The IDT (Instrument Definitions Table) dataset of COMPASS contains information
regarding the distribution of material in COMPTEL. This information includes
not only the spatial distribution, but also the elemental distribution. The
IDT dataset is used in task SIMGAM as a means of providing this 'mass model'
information to GEANT. The content of the IDT dataset has evolved over the
years. Here we present a summary of this evolution:
- UNH-IDT-1011 (outdated)
- Standard mass model for in-flight simulations (empty regions filled with vacuum).
Corrected problems with overlapping volumes and removed backscatter detector.
Introduced 10-May-1995.
- UNH-IDT-1012 (outdated)
- Standard mass model for calibration simulations (empty regions filled with air).
Corrected problems with overlapping volumes and removed backscatter detector.
Introduced 10-May-1995.
- UNH-IDT-1013 (outdated)
- Low resolution mass model, calibration version (empty regions filled with air).
Standard mass model that is adequate for most simulations.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 11-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1014 (outdated)
- Low resolution mass model, in-flight version (empty regions filled with vacuum)
Standard mass model that is adequate for most simulations.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 11-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1015 (outdated)
- High resolution mass model, calibration version (empty regions filled with air).
Provides more precise detail of the mass distrubution surrounding the D1 and D2
detector arrays. This level of detail can be especially important in simulations
of internal background lines.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 11-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1016 (outdated)
- High resolution mass model, in-flight version (empty regions filled with vacuum).
Provides more precise detail of the mass distrubution surrounding the D1 and D2
detector arrays. This level of detail can be especially important in simulations
of internal background lines.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 11-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1017
- Low resolution mass model, calibration version (empty regions filled with air).
Standard mass model that is adequate for most simulations.
This version updated UNH-IDT-1013 with more accurate description of reflective
paint in D1 and a corrected height for the D1 PMT quartz window.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 24-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1018
- Low resolution mass model, in-flight version (empty regions filled with vacuum)
Standard mass model that is adequate for most simulations.
This version updated UNH-IDT-1014 with more accurate description of reflective
paint in D1 and a corrected height for the D1 PMT quartz window.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 24-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1019
- High resolution mass model, calibration version (empty regions filled with air).
Provides more precise detail of the mass distrubution surrounding the D1 and D2
detector arrays. This level of detail can be especially important in simulations
of internal background lines.
This version updated UNH-IDT-1015 with more accurate description of reflective
paint in D1 and a corrected height for the D1 PMT quartz window.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 24-Apr-1996.
- UNH-IDT-1020
- High resolution mass model, in-flight version (empty regions filled with vacuum).
Provides more precise detail of the mass distrubution surrounding the D1 and D2
detector arrays. This level of detail can be especially important in simulations
of internal background lines.
This version updated UNH-IDT-1016 with more accurate description of reflective
paint in D1 and a corrected height for the D1 PMT quartz window.
Requires SIMGAM v16 or higher.
Introduced 24-Apr-1996.
