The data consists of simulated EVP data for a source run. These data are binned in (phigeo, phibar). The geometry correction is computed on the basis of the source position. The absolute normalization is obtained from the number of photons incident on D1 from the source and the source distance ---- CONTROL PARAMETERS ================== Source energy (MeV) EINP : Source energy descriptor This parameter is not used directly, rather, it is simply written to the header of the IAQ and FAQ fits files for user information. For a spectrum of source energies, specify the spectral parameter or simply 0.0. Source zenith angle (degrees) ZENITH : Source zenith angle (degrees) Zenith angle to the source in TELESCOPE system for this source run. Source azimuth (degrees) AZIMUT : Source azimuth (degrees) Azimuth angle of source in TELESCOPE system for this source run Source distance (meters) DISTAN : Source distance (meters) Distance from centre of D1 to source in TELESCOPE system /n/ N.B. This parameter is not used when the infinate source option (ITYPE = 0) is activated. Number of incident photons NINPUT : Photons incident on D1 Number of photons incident on the D1 detector modules as output by the SIMGAM task. /n/ NOTE for list datasets, NINPUT must be the sum of NINPUT for the individual list members. Beam type (1 or 11) This should correspond to the beam type use to create the EVP dataset (from the QEV coming out of SIMGAM) IBEAM value of 1 is narrow and 11 is wide. Th beam area is calculated from this using the zenith angle in this task parameter table and radius of 78 cm, thikcness 25 cm if using wide beam. Source type (0=infinite,1=nearby) ITYPE : Source type flag ITYPE = 0 For source at an infinite distance (parallel beam) Flight type ITYPE = 1 For a nearby source (divergent beam) Calibration type /n/ N.B. ITYPE should directly correspond to the IDIVER parameter in SIMGAM Reject Vetoed events (0=no,1=yes) IRVET : Veto events rejection flag. IRVET = 0 to accept ALL veto flagged events IRVET = 1 to reject ALL veto flagged events Phi_geo center of first bin PHIGMN : Phi_geo center of first bin Value in degrees of the centre of the first phi_geo bin in the IAQ dataset Phi_geo center of last bin PHIGMX : Phi_geo center of last bin Value in degrees of the centre of the last phi_geo bin in the IAQ dataset. The dimension of IAQ is computed from the range of phi_geo and the binsize. Phi_geo binsize (degrees) DPHIG : Phi_geo binsize (degrees) Value in degrees of the binsize in phi_geo for the IAQ, FAQ datasets. Phi_bar center of first bin PHIBMN : Phi_bar center of first bin Value in degrees of the first phi_bar bin in the IAQ dataset. Phi_bar center of last bin PHIBMX : Phi_bar center of last bin Value in degrees of the centre of the last phi_bar bin in the IAQ, FAQ datasets. The phi_bar dimension of IAQ, FAQ is computed from the phi_bar range and the binsize. Phi_bar binsize (degrees) DPHIB : Phi_bar binsize (degrees) Binsize in degrees for phi_bar in the IAQ, FAQ datasets D1 module indicator DUMMY1 : D1 module indicator This is not a task parameter ] It is to help in entering the following _________ _________________ |Site: | software user manual: simpsf |proc: SBMTKSUM | |UNH | |vers: 1 | |user: | |page: 2 | |SBM_RO | |date: 13-JAN-98| |_______| |_______________| CONTROL PARAMETERS ================== D1 module indicator seven entries. For each column it indicates which D2 module is affected. D2 modules for D1-n BETPQC : D2 modules for D1-n This array determines which D1 and D2 modules combinations are to be used in constructing the PSF. 0 = don't use, 1 = use. Rows: D1 (1-7) Columns: D2 (1-14) TOF minimum TOFMIN : TOF minimum Minimum time-of-flight accepted TOF maximum TOFMAX : TOF maximum Maximum time-of-flight accepted PSD minimum PSDMIN : PSD minimum Minimum PSD to be accepted. This value must not lie between 70 and 90. The present PSD correction scheme cannot handle values in this range. PSD maximum PSDMAX : PSD maximum This value must not lie between 70 and 90. The present PSD correction scheme cannot handle values in this range. Total energy minimum ETMIN : Total energy minimum Minimum total energy accepted, in MeV Total energy maximum ETMAX : Total energy maximum Maximum total energy accepted, in MeV D1 energy minimum E1MIN : D1 energy minimum Minimum D1 energy accepted, in MeV D1 energy maximum E1MAX : D1 energy maximum Maximum D1 energy accepted, in MeV D2 energy minimum E2MIN : D2 energy minimum Minimum D2 energy accepted, in MeV D2 energy maximum E2MAX : D2 energy maximum Maximum D2 energy accepted, in MeV Impose Ratio Cut (VP 2.5)? RATCUT : Impose Ratio Cut (VP 2.5)? This parameter specifies whether a ratio cut (as defined for GRO viewing period 2.5) should be imposed on the event data. The ratio cut defines a limit for the ratio between the raw D1E channel number and the raw D2E channel number. This is normally imposed on-board during solar mode operations in order to maximize the number of solar flare events which are recorded. SIMPSF uses a parameterization of this selection as determined from processed EVP data. Control flags CONTRL : Control flags Global program control flags. 0 or 1 according to which feature is required. Ordering is from LEFT to RIGHT. Setting flag 9 will dump the resulting FAQ array to the log file. Setting flag 10 will dump the resulting IAQ array to the log file. INPUT DATASETS ============== EVP Source processed event file EVPSDA : Source run processed events A LIST of EVP datasets for the SIM source run PCF PCF Dataset id (PSD Corrections) PCFDAT : PCF Dataset id (PSD Corrections) This dataset id specifies the PCF file to use in determining PSD rejection probabilities. The rejection probabilities are based on the PSD limits which are provided by the user. See also the following documents for further info on PSD rejection: /n/ COM-RP-ROL-DRG-035, PSF Normalizations: the PSD Correction COM-RP-ROL-DRG-044, The PSD Correction as a Function of PSD PSD selection and D1E /n/ If this parameter is left blank, then PSD selections will be made directly on the EVP data using the PSDMIN and PSDMAX values provided in the TPT FPM FPM Dataset id (dead PMT handling) FPMDAT : FPM Dataset id (dead PMT handling) This dataset id specifies the FPM dataset to use in order to properly handle modules with dead PMTs. SIMPSF will reject any event which lies within the excluded regions as specified in the FPM dataset. If this parameter is left blank, then it will be assumed that there are no dead PMTs to be handled.
