COMPTEL All-sky Map of Gamma-ray Bursts

An all-sky map in Galactic coordinates indicating the positions of 28 cosmic gamma-ray bursts detected within the field of view of COMPTEL during the first four years of the CGRO mission (April 1991 to April 1995). Shown are the maximum-likelihood contours for the burst locations, expressed in terms of location confidence. The mean uncertainty in burst location is on the order of one degree. The COMPTEL-detected bursts are consistent with an isotropic distribution of sources, though the spatial coincidence of two of the bursts indicates the possibility of repetition.
