Abstract
We present new photometric data of the galactic supersoft X-ray source
(SSS) RX J0019.8+2156 taken in Johnson's V band at Loiano Observatory
with a two-channel photoelectric photometer between December 1994 and
October 1997. Our observations confirm those already reported by other authors, as far as
orbital period, depth of the light curve, and presence of a secondary
minimum are concerned. Considering the years 1955-1997 we found no indication
for a period change.
The physical nature of this system remains unclear,
though the H burning white dwarf model
seems to be most capable of explaining the observed phenomena.
