Present Solar Activity

The following files show different parameters reflecting the solar activity: They are updated about once a week (last update: 26 June 1997).

• present global solar activity (eps, ~65kb)

  Covers approximately the last two months and contains the global solar radio-flux at 10.7 cm, the SESC sunspot number and the area covered by sunspots for each day.

• present flare activity (eps, ~60kb)

  Covers approximately the last two months. It indicates all X-ray events recorded by the GOES satellite and the daily background flux.

• long-term prediction of radio-flux (eps, ~60kb)

  Shows the predicted 10.7 cm radio-flux for the time range 1996 to 2002 and also the daily measured flux up to the current date.

The plots are produced using data from the SEC Gopher Server of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administraton (NOAA).

Daily images of the Sun from different Solar observation sites can be accessed at the SOHO Synoptic Database .
