Freuder Monoenergetic Lines for PSF Synthesis ===================================== A large number of simulations of monoenergetic sources have been done with the intent of using PSFs for these spectral lines to synthesize PSFs for continuous spectra. The lines are spaced in energy by about one-half the telesope energy resolution. For each line, PSFs are calculated for each of the standard energy ranges to which that line may contribute. For all these simulations the source was at infinity at zenith 40 degrees and azimuth 0 degrees. A wide incident beam was used, i.e., simulted photons were spread uniformly over the entire D1 assembly. All these PSFs have been calculated for a phibar range of 0 degrees to 50 degrees, and for phibar widths of 2 degrees. The statistics for any one of these PSFs are poor. However, when a large number are combined in a weighted sum to synthesize a continuous spectrum, the statistics will usually be quite good. For power-law spectra with indices between -1.4 and -3.0, the equivalent statistics for a synthesized PSF will be 100,000 events or better. ============================================================== Section I QEV - EVP Report (SIMGAM / SIMFIN) ============================================================== The following table summarizes the simulated QEV/EVP data.
